LAY HEALTH PROMOTER PROGRAM

These are 12 week programs aimed at teaching community members how to be health
advocates for themselves and their families, friends, neighbors and co-workers.

These programs are offered free to the Tri-Cities and surrounding counties by Central Virginia Health Services through the Appomattox Area Health and Wellness Center. Classes meet once weekly and concentrate on chronic diseases, promotion of making healthy lifestyle choices and prevention of disease.
  • Do you have a thirst for knowledge?
  • Do you volunteer with Crater Community Hospice, or would like to do so?
  • Are you a nurse's aide or caregiver of someone with a chronic disease?
  • Do you wish to increase your health and longevity and nurture the growth of others?
If you answered "Yes" to any of these questions, I challenge you to take the Lay Health Promoter Program.
