Summer Therapeutic Day Treatment Program

This program is free for children with Medicaid and we provided transportation. Our program serves both males and females between the ages of 5 and 17. In addition youth need to meet one or more of the following criteria:


Students who require year-round treatment in order to sustain behavioral or emotional gains, or

Have behavioral/emotional problems so severe they cannot be handled in self-contained or special classrooms (ED) without this program during the school day or

As a supplement to the school day/year; would otherwise be placed on homebound instruction because of behavior or

Have deficits in the following areas: social skills, peer relations, dealing with authority, are hyperactive, have poor impulse control, are extremely depressed, and marginally connected with reality.

Summer Program Activities Include:

Provide 2 nutritious meals

Activities,

Evaluation

Medication education and management

Learn and use daily living skills

Enhance social and interpersonal skills, such as

Problem solving

Anger management

Community responsibility

Increased impulse control

Appropriate peer relations

Respecting authorities

Community Outings,

Wall climbing,

Field trips to museums,

Team building

Kings Dominion trips,

Swimming,

African-American cultural activities and much more …
